MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The DTN spot price for domestic distillers dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Nov. 13 was $152 per ton on average, up $3 versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed but higher on average for the week, while soybean meal prices were stronger again this week, up $15.70 versus one week ago. As for cash corn, the DTN National Average Corn Index was up 14 cents versus one week ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative to corn for the week ended Nov. 13 was 0.964%. The value of DDG relative to soybean meal was 46.29% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $5.63 compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.91.
U.S. Grains Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report, showed December prices as of Nov.13: CIF NOLA barge price was steady at $210 metric ton (mt); FOB vessel Gulf price was steady at $230 mt; rail delivered PNW was down $8 at $240; and rail delivered to California was down $13 at $225 mt.
The Energy Information Administration reported that for the week ended Nov. 7, overall ethanol production in the United States averaged 1.075 million barrels per day (bpd), down 48,000 bpd versus last week and 30,000 bpd, or 2.8%, lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.1 million bpd was 5,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol production averaged 1.014 million bpd, down 47,000 bpd versus last week and 28,000 bpd, or 2.8%, lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average output at 1.04 million bpd was 8,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
